The Old Mill, Leicester, East Midlands, LE9 (SE234)

Sitting atop the highest point in Earl Shilton, on the outskirts of Leicestershire, the former Mill (circa in parts -1880) has now been converted to host indoor and partly outdoor Airsoft and Gel soft events.

It is now being offered over two floors for film shoots, music videos, corporate hosting and other suitable events.

The ground floor begins on entry into our period courtyard, where some of the Crittal windows have been retained and tastefully matched with additional wooden, fortress-like slit windows. There is perimeter seating, period brickwork and lighting and a block paved floor – it is open to the elements though! Adjacent to the fort is our RV or “Rendezvous” area. The rustic perimeter walls have been fashioned from scaffold boards and the lighting was recovered from a 1950`s Navy frigate ship. Seating for around 30 comfortably, or a few more milling around (there is seating in the courtyard when the sun is out – for an additional 15 or so).

Adjacent to the courtyard and RV area we have newly refurbished toilets (and facilities for less abled people) along with a small catering kitchen, Hot water Urn and heated cabinet for hot food storage (if ordered in to the site) Leading off the courtyard you enter the “Hall of Punchbags” and this , in turn leads into “The Maze” a labyrinth of full height walls, half height step thru`s, mini staircases and corridor after corridor – the clue to this area is very much in the title. Heading down into the basement, the space has been accessorised with various mannequins, swinging appendages , and many original features such as the Crittal windows, brickwork and steel beams. The entrance is guarded by a very huge very heavy sliding door which probably dates from the 1940`s. Access is also available off the rear yard which is where crews can bring equipment in through the Medical grade stainless steel door. Original concertina doors to the lift shafts add character the space – it gets a bit mean and moody in the “Basement of Despair”!

Outside, is a small fort like area, constructed from old telegraph poles, which sits below the sniper lookout and this is accessed through the rear of the main car park. A big space (15000 sq. feet plus overall).
