A substantial Manor House built in 1889 by the Duke of Devonshire for his daughter.
The property was converted into flats in 1989. We own flats 1, 2 and 5 which were altered to make one self - contained unit which is now over 460 sq. mtrs. and 45% of the total floor area of the building.
There are 5 bedrooms, 2 reception rooms, large kitchen with dining area, a porch leading to the entrance hall and a further inner hall, also a large basement (once the wine cellars).
Fortunately much of the period detail has survived eg. large decorative cornices, very deep hardwood skirtings, very large sash windows all with the correct hardwood internal folding shutters. Doors and the floorboarding decorative finish have largely been replaced but to the correct period style.
Additionally most of the radiators have been replaced with a large ribbed period style type with relief work on the surfaces painted black.
The three main rooms - Grand Bedroom - Reception/Games Room - Sitting Room are all from the late nineteenth century.

This room has the original timber patterned flooring the other rooms copied from.
Marble fireplace with overmantle, various statues, a very large vic. oil painting amongst others. Period style leather sofa suite, antique furniture. A 12 seater teak dining table with matching chairs, once owned by a national newspaper editor where many distinguished dinner guests once gathered. French doors lead to the garden.
Entrance Hall
Has black and white mosaic tiled flooring (including inner hall) is a good room size with large mirror, antique furniture, oil painting etc
Gardens
Rear garden - oval in shape running the full width of the building. Mainly lawn, secluded
position with perimeter of olive trees, palm trees, weeping willow, fig tree and other exotic shrubs. Four columns of an old church lychegate are mounted in one corner with potted plants , statues etc.

Parking
The drive runs parallel with the front entrance for the full length of the building. It is secluded from the road with a boundary wall and pine trees etc. The front of the building also has a continuous planting area with small trees and shrubs.
There are a pair of wooden gates for entrance electronically controlled. The drive could park 6 -8 cars/vans - there is also a double garage. Parking is free in the road.
